Delhi Township Fire Chief Brian Ball recently received the Professional Excellence Award from the 100 Club of Greater Lansing. Ball received the award for his leadership of the Delhi Township Fire Department and his involvement in important police- and fire- related community projects to benefit Delhi Township and surrounding Ingham County communities.

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by the 100 Club of Greater Lansing, and receive the Professional Excellence Award,” Ball said. “I take my role as Delhi Township’s fire chief very seriously, and it is my duty to set an example for the quality of service I expect my team to deliver. Our residents are used to receiving high-quality fire services and I am committed to ensuring we continue to meet and exceed their expectations.”

The Professional Excellence Award is presented to police officers and firefighters in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties for exceptional achievements in the line of duty.

“Chief Ball is very deserving of this award. He is a dedicated public servant who goes out of his way to ensure our residents continue to receive the high-quality fire services they have come to expect,” said Tracy Miller, Delhi Township manager. “Congratulations on your award, Chief Ball, and thank you for your commitment to our community.”

Chief Ball is a member of many community groups and serves on the Holt Education Foundation board.

Ball also chairs the Ingham County 911 Advisory Committee. In this role, he led the charge to update the county’s antiquated 911 system and played an integral role in creating consensus among Ingham County police and fire departments to choose a new 911 vendor.

Ball was nominated for the award by Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth.

“Chief Ball is a hands-on leader who goes above and beyond to ensure our community is safe. In addition to his role as fire chief, he also took a leadership role in several community projects and championed two millages to improve service delivery for Delhi Township residents,” Wrigglesworth said. “Chief Ball personifies professional excellence and I am glad to see him win this much-deserved award.”
