Sponsorship Needed for Bike and Skate Park

The Delhi Township Parks & Recreation Department would like to provide you or your organization the opportunity to receive recognition for the sponsorship of a community supported bike and skate park.

The location of the park will be the northeast corner of the Junior High School (OLD Holt High School) parking lot.  The 16,500 square foot park is designed with approximately 10 main areas, mobile for alternative configurations, accommodating skateboards, inline skates and bikes.  The park will visible to the school faculty, students, parents Aurelius Road commuters and sport field spectators.

Sponsors are needed for the project, which includes 52 pieces of apparatus and a new cement slab.  Total costs for the project, including labor costs, is approximately $195,000.  Sponsorship opportunities range from $250 to $5,000, allowing for participation at a variety of levels.  Sponsors will receive name recognition on a permanent fence marker, with the highest levels of sponsorship receiving media recognition as well.  Contributions are also available for tax benefits.  If you are interested in sponsorship, please contact Mark Jenks at the Delhi Township Department of Parks and Recreation at 517-694-1549.

At the September 6, 2005 regular meeting of the Delhi Township Board of Trustees, a budget was approved enabling construction to begin this year.  Funding will come from donations, both in-kind and monetary as well as cell tower proceeds, dedicated to capital improvements for Township parks.

To date, over $11,000 has been raised Through the generosity of local businesses, service clubs and residents.

Much more money is needed and there are several sponsorship levels in which to choose.  Donations in any amount are also accepted.
