Tax bill timeline

 

Summer property tax bill timeline:

Tax bills are mailed by July 1 of each year.

Tax bills are due September 14 by 5:00 p.m. of that year.  Postmarks are not accepted.

After 5:00 p.m. on September 14 interest will be added at the rate of 1% each month or fraction of the month until paid in full.

March 1: Outstanding real property tax amounts will be sent to Ingham County Treasurer as delinquent for continued collection efforts.

 

Winter property tax bill timeline:

Tax bills are mailed by December 1 of each year.

Tax bills are due February 14 by 5:00 p.m. of the following year.  Postmarks are not accepted.

Any outstanding amount on February 15 will receive a one time 3% penalty and 1% interest fee.

March 1: Outstanding real property tax amounts will be sent to Ingham County Treasurer as delinquent for continued collection efforts.

Beginning March 1 of each year, all unpaid taxes (summer and winter) including additional penalties and interest must be paid to:
